You know one thing is for sure if you go Swedish-quality quality! The Husqvarna brand has been around for years and is actually a division of Electrolux, which is controlled by Sears. We've actually just gotten done talking about Craftsman lawn tractors, but the Husqvarna is distinctly different, sort of like comparing a Ford to a Saab. No comments? Let's continue. Husqvarna differs in what it offers, the way it's made and, of course, it's price tag.
The Husqvarna Lawn GTH2254XP Riding Mower comes standard with a smooth 22-horsepower Kawasaki V-twin OHC engine. It cuts a whopping 54-inches and comes with a five-gallon gas tank with visual monitor. Did we mention it's Swedish designed?
Husqvarna is doing something right again as they compete strong in the elite mowing market. With a price tag around $3,200.00, it's about a grand cheaper than some of its competitors who don't offer quite as much pizzazz. Unlike the Snapper (or even the Craftsman-although I won't compare these two too much), it comes with a comfy high-back seat. And, if you're planning to use the entire five-gallons, you'd better have it! It's built solid a cast iron front axle and bumper/vent system, which allows the engine to run cooler-extending its life. The deck is also made of steel and coated with a resistant powder coat that will resist years of extended use.
For those of us beyond the days of a clutch, even in our mowers, this Husqvarna comes standard with a Hydro-Gear transmission and electric PTO. The front tires are the same size as some competitor's back tires, standing at 8-inches. The back turf tires are of monster-truck proportions for a residential lawn tractor, 12-inch by 23 x 10½. Plus, unlike most tractors that come with two anti-scalping wheels as they are referred (the wheels on the deck that prevent 'scalping' your yard on turns and bumps), the Husqvarna comes with four, made of steel, and are adjustable.
Before ending, there are a few other perks. First, it has a durable cup-holder for whatever summer beverage you prefer, a strong GT chassis, amp and hour meter, and the shifter is conveniently located so that you won't tip your preferred summer beverage either!
