Lawn Boy Lawnmowers

Over the years, Lawn Boy mowers have always had a strong customer support and backing. They continue to do well in the market and have even upgraded their line to include zero-radius turning mowers. This all came about with the introduction of their better-quality machines in their Gold Series lawn mowers.

Many agree that Lawn-Boy's Gold Series mowers are one of their best products to date; combining both durability and adaptability that consumers are looking for, not to mention a fair price that balances budget and quality.

In years past, Lawn Boy switched hands and began using Toro engines. While Toro has a strong name and offers quality, the first and only Lawn-Boy that my father used was fatally injured as he ran over a small stump, and cracked its aluminum head. It would never recover. As we wheeled what we once referred to as "Kermit" home from the town mechanic, we weren't sure what would have happened had the head been made of cast iron, like other, perhaps more expensive brands.

Nevertheless, Lawn Boy's two-cycle (2-cyl) engine is its claim to fame as many prefer mixing the gas and oil themselves, thereby eliminating the need to change the oil regularly as in other brands that do not use a 2-cyl system. Some of Lawn-Boy's zero-turning radius lawn mowers now use a Briggs and Stratton Engine, which do not operate on a 2-cyl system.

The Lawn Boy (Lawn-Boy) Z310 MSRP, for example, is just one mower off of their new line-up of lawn tractors. These beauties run quickly, quietly and smoothly. Its OHV, electric start and PTO engine ensures that it is up-to-date with modern engine specifications. It can reach about 6-mph on flat surface and even reaches mentionable speeds in reverse.

The dual-wrap around lever steering takes a bit to get used to, but once you do, you'll find that the control of the machine that you feel surpasses regular steering systems. It has a decent cut of about 38-inches and a small 1.8-gallon gas reservoir. But, the seating may make up for that as a standard high-back seat (with cup holder and adjustable arm rests) and no-slip mat will allow you to zoom along in top-notch comfort.

The gas tank is located below the operator station and has a fuel sight gauge to monitor when you should head back to the pit for a refill on gas and liquid refreshment. The engine is covered by a no-bolt hood, which allows for easy maintenance. The mower deck, composed of 13-guage steel is both durable and sleek.
