Scotts Mowers have a history of quality and durability. While there isn’t anything negative to be found against the company’s products and quality, it’s most likely due to the fact that these mowers are designed and produced by John Deere. And, as we well know, they often receive a standing ovation for durability and customer satisfaction.
Being an imprint for John Deere has its ups and downs. In recent years, Scotts hasn’t released any out-of-the-ordinary models, or for that matter, many gas-powered models at all. Push behind models usually come standard with a 6.0-horsepower, Briggs and Stratton engine. These engines will easily last for a decade, perhaps two. These models also have a pull-string start system with primer. With its steel muffler system, you won’t have a lot of back lashing noise. With a grass-catching bag and mulching blades coming standard with the purchase, it’s a hard deal to beat. And, it should be noted that Scotts has upgraded in some fashion, giving those who swear by their name the option to have a self-propelled system.
In the push mower market, one must also look at reel mowers. Scotts Reel Mowers are an excellent, environmentally friendly alternative to gas-powered models. And, if you think that reel models are as tough to push as in the olden days, think again. Newer models are much easier to push than gas-powered models (even if they have self-propelled capabilities as reel mowers are much lighter). The secret is in the lightweight, yet durable construction of the frames and the sheering power and design of the blades.
Scotts reel blades are razor-sharp and made from carbonated steel. And, with up to ten adjustable blade heights, you’ll be able to conquer any terrain or patch of grass that gives your yard a slightly, unsightly look. The mowers are easy to push, as mentioned, but will still give you that hands-on, do-it-yourself satisfaction. With a 15- to 20-inch width cut and medium-sized radial tires, your yard will look prim and proper. And, think about it—it all came from your own power, causing no noise or pollution. include("includes/footergoogle.html"); ?>
